At Chengdu motor show, Infiniti China General Manager Daniel Kirchert made it clear that Infiniti aimed to be the fourth largest luxury brand except of Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi. The domestic production is one of his most important strategies. "Domestic projects are developing soon, Nissan Xiangyang factory production line is drawing to a close and two domestic new models will enter production in the second half of next year.ˇ± He said.
Although Infiniti localization project was finalised in May last year, but how to build the domestic sales channels and how to divide the work of Infiniti and Nissan in China have not been decided. Daniel Kirchert said in an interview at the show, ˇ°we can't reveal too many details in the process of preparing, though the exact modalities of cooperation will be released early next year.ˇ± At the same time he stressed that Nissan and Infiniti are two separate brands, last year Infiniti Headquarters move from Japan to Hong Kong, China, which means that the Nissan and Infiniti brands require a different operating mode. "Nissan has a lot of successful experience in China, Infiniti will make good use of this advantage to develope rapidly."
Currently in Japanese three major luxury brands, Infiniti domestic projects in the forefront.
