Guangxi Rongkai Investment Development Co is going to build an electroplating industrial park in Liuzhou city in South China¡¯s Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
The deal was officially inked between the company and the Luzhai county government in Liuzhou city on Sept 3. The industrial park is expected to cover a total of 60 hectares in Liuzhou. The phase-one project of the park is about 33 hectares. The investor¡¯s goal is to push 80 percent of the electroplating companies in Liuzhou to move into the park once infrastructure construction is finished.
All the local electroplating companies are expected to be included in the park after the phase-two project, which focuses on attracting companies in the industry¡¯s supply chain.
Chen Jie, deputy mayor of Liuzhou, said that the building of the electroplating industrial park is going to improve the supply chain of the city¡¯s automobile industry, putting the development of Liuzhou¡¯s auto sector on a faster track.
¡°Liuzhou is a key industrial city in Guangxi and the automobile industry is the first industry in Guangxi with an output of over 100 billion yuan.¡±
¡°Liuzhou produced 1.8 million vehicles last year. The number in the first half of this year was 1.04 million units. However, only 50 percent to 60 percent of automobile components can be purchased locally in Liuzhou. The construction of the electroplating park will certainly energize the supply chain in our city,¡± Chen said in a press conference after the signing ceremony of the project.
¡°The electroplating industrial park will serve as an important part of the supply chain for Liuzhou¡¯s automobile industry,¡± said Liu Shengyou, head of Luzhai county.
According to Liu, the park is expected to generate an annual industrial output of 2 billion yuan ($326.8 million) and bring in 500 million yuan in tax income for the county every year. ¡°The park can also create 1,500 jobs,¡± said Liu.
