The North University of China held its third Campus Auto Show on June 5 in University Hi-Tech Park. Among various cars nationwide, the university showed its ace, the first student formula car in Shanxi.

Established in 2004, the Xingzhi Team of the North University of China has been taking part in the Honda Cup Econopower Competition consecutively since 2008. It now ranks 26th in the nation.

Like a professional F1 car, this student formula car takes black as its background with a red embellished flame pattern. Reportedly designed and assembled by students, the car will be capable of a 75mph top speed and 0-62mph acceleration in 5.1 seconds. During their preparation, the team visited other mobile test laboratories and learned from experience by participating in the Econopower Competition.

In mid-October the formula car will take part in the 2014 Formula Students China on behalf of Taiyuan in Hubei province.
