Automobile manufacturers facing complaints regarding excessive VOCs inside their vehicles
Gasgoo.com -The Shenzhen branch of the China Consumers¡¯ Association has issued a recent study on volatile organic compounds, thePeople¡¯s Dailyreported today. According to the report, VOC ratings for 20 of the 51 compact automobiles exceeded maximum safety standards.
According to the CCA report, formaldehyde and acetaldehyde account for 61 percent of the VOC substances in the vehicles tested. The report was made in the light of several complaints issued by consumers against major automobile manufacturers. One of the most prominent of these is an ongoing case against Mercedes-Benz regarding strange odors in the inside of some of their vehicles. The case was covered on CCTV, Likewise, BMW and Audi are also being investigated to determine whether or not the auto parts used in their vehicles emit harmful odors.
