Gasgoo.com - A total of 6,045 new energy automobiles were sold in China in February, the Beijing Times reported today, citing statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. A total of 6,190 new energy automobiles were produced during the course of the month. Production and sales figures for pure electric vehicles totaled 3,061 units and 2,890 units, respectively, while those of plug-in hybrids totaled 3,129 units and 3,155 units, respectively.
Although this February¡¯s production and sales figures represent positive year-on-year growth, they are less than respective figures from previous months, with sales decreasing 70 percent from January. CAAM Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General Dong Yang attributed the decline in sales numbers to the phasing out of new energy vehicle subsidies over the past few months, as well as the long Lunar New Year vacation and limited number of overall sales days in February.
Respective totals of 12,853 and 12,440 new energy vehicles were produced and sold over the first two months of the year. Combined production and sales numbers for hybrid vehicles totaled 6,519 units and 5,996 units, respectively, while those of plug-in hybrids totaled 6,334 units and 6,444 units, respectively. |
